Offshore

Description – Offshore company course

 

Purpose

The purpose of this course is to give the participants specific knowledge about occupational health and safety. The participants will be introduced to methods which will allow them to work systematically with health and safety at their workplace. 

 

Target Group 

The course is addressing the safety representatives, managers and employees from the offshore industry who are a part of a safety group at offshore installations, including employees in the production, maintenance, construction, catering as well as service departments. The course is also addressing vendors or others who have particular obligations in connection to occupational health and safety activities in the offshore industry.

 

Contents

The course is aimed at the practical work with occupational health and safety on offshore installations including the duties and requirements of members of a safety group. Examples and teaching materials are related to the industry. In cooperation with our certified instructors the individual company has the opportunity to incorporate their internal safety policies and safety goals, procedures, reporting systems, etc.

 

The course includes the following topics:

 

Ø   What is occupational health and safety?

Ø     Health and safety legislation

Ø     Responsibilities, rights, duties and tasks according to law

Ø     The safety organization and its tasks

Ø     Cooperation between the safety groups and the health and safety committee

Ø     Communication and cooperation

Ø     A model to solve problems

Ø     What characterizes a good, efficient and systematic approach to health and safety?

Ø     Work Place Assessment (WPA)

Ø     Safety awareness

Ø     Work-related injuries and near-miss incidents

Ø     Statement on Safety and Health (SSH)

Ø     Psychological working environment

Ø     Health and safety concerning chemicals

Ø     Players in the health and safety field

Ø     Where to get assistance, information and new knowledge?

Ø     How can you affect attitudes and develop health and safety at work?

Ø     Typical health and safety problems concerning the offshore industry
