Compulsory Coordinator Course

The purpose of this course is to give the safety coordinators specific knowledge about the clients’ obligations and the coordinators tasks during the projecting phase as well as in the construction phase according to the Danish legislation.

Coordinators must complete the entire course, before they can act as coordinators.

The course are 37 hours, divided into two periods of 3 and 2 days. The first 4 days from 8:00-16:30 and the last day from 8:00-13.00.

Materials will be handed out on the first day of the course.

Contents:

  • What characterizes a safe and healthy working environment on construction sites?
  • Understand the client's duties as well as the coordinator's tasks and function
  • Learn about the construction site's occupational health and safety organization
  • Become familiar with the duties and responsibilities of employers, managers, other employees, planners and consultants
  • Learn how to make a site safety specific plan (SSSP)
  • Get tools to work efficiently and systematically with the work environment
  • Learn methods for taking safety precautions in common areas
  • Get acquainted with tasks related to accidents and health hazards
  • Get an overview of the actors in the occupational health and safety area
  • Knowledge of where to get help and information
  • Learn about the client culture and how to behave on construction sites

The content of the course is based on a high degree of active participation including group work, exchanging experience, debates and presentations by the teacher. During the course you will work with relevant situations from your workplace

A practical task must be solved at work between the two course periods. The assignment is specifically agreed with the teacher. You must present your assignment on the last part of the course and will have the opportunity to discuss your experiences with solving the assignment.

A certificate will be handed out at the end of the course. You must be present during the entire course and have completed the practical assignment in order to receive a certificate.

The certificate will be sent to the participant´s employer who must keep it. The Danish Working Environment Authority (DWEA) can demand to see proof that the course has been completed.

You get full board on the course starting with coffee and bread at 7:45 a.m.
